Bio

Ron Beaschler is in his 36th season as head wrestling coach at Ohio Northern after taking over the reins during the 1988-89 campaign. He had previously served as an assistant from 1986-88.

He also serves as the assistant athletics director for complaince since Aug. of 2022.

Beaschler is also an assistant professor in the Human Performance and Sport Sciences department and coordinates the sport management program at Ohio Northern.

In his 35 seasons, the ONU wrestling program has posted a 374-250-4 overall record and an 99-41 conference mark, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history. He is also the longest-tenured head wrestling coach at Ohio Northern.

During his coaching career, Beaschler has coached five national champions, two national runners-up, 34 All-Americans, 84 Scholar All-Americans, and 16 Scholar All-American Teams.

He was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008.

He has been named OAC Coach of the Year in 1993, 2012 and 2013.

Beaschler has served as the NCAA wrestling secretary rules editor and has served as the Weight Management Program liaison to the NCAA Wrestling Committee.

He also served as chair of the Division III NCAA Wrestling committee for two years, the president of the National Wrestling Coaches Association, which represents all collegiate and scholastic wrestling in the United States, and the Division III representative on the NWCA executive board of directors.

Beaschler graduated from Ohio Northern in 1986 with bachelor's degrees in management and sport management. He received his master's degree in education from Bowling Green State University in 1988.

Ron resides in Ada with his wife Christy, an ONU alumni ('87) and 2001 inductee into the Ohio Northern Athletic Hall of Fame. They have three sons, John, an ONU alumni ('14), Christopher (U. of Dayton, '16) and Zachary (ONU, '22).
