Women's Golf goes back-to-back with victory at Capital Fall Invitational on Sunday

LANCASTER - Senior Amelia Burger (Centerville) and freshman Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) finished in a three-way tie for Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a 31-stroke victory at the Capital Fall Invitational on Sunday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished first of four teams with a 328 on the par-72 course.
- Heidelberg was second with a 359 while Marietta and Capital tied for third with a 376s.

ONU Individuals
- Burger won Medalist honors for the second time this weekend finishing in a three-way tie for first of 26 golfers with a 7-over par 79.
- Meister also carded a 79 to earn Meadalist honors for the first time in her career.
- Freshman Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) was fourth with an 82.
- Junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) was tied for seventh with an 88.
- Freshman Ella Baird (Avon Lake/Magnificat) carded a 9s to tie for 11th.
Notables
- Ohio Northern also won on Saturday, finishing first of five at the Capital Fall Classic with a 328.
- This is the sixth of seven tournaments this fall for the Polar Bears.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 501-298-2 in his 11th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .626.
