Bio

Chad Bucci is in his 12th season as the head men's and women's golf coach at Ohio Northern in 2024-25.

He also serves as the assistant athletic director for merchandise and facilities at ONU.

Bucci is the first full-time golf coach in ONU history and brings significant experience and success to the programs.

Through 11 seasons, he has guided the men's golf teams to a 369-362-13 record, a winning percentage of .505, and the women's golf teams to a 473-289-2 mark, a .620 winning percentage.

At ONU, he is 842-651-15 overall for a .563 winning percentage.

He has coached 14 All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees and one GCAA All-Great Lakes Region selection in men's golf and 31 All-Conference athletes and two GCAA All-Great Lakes Region selections in women's golf while at Ohio Northern.

Under his guidance in the abbreviated season of 2020-21, the women's team posted a 37-22-1 overall record, won the OAC Championships title and finished 15th at the NCAA Division III Championships.

He has been named the OAC Women's Coach of the Year three times, in 2024, 2021 and 2013.

Bucci came to Ohio Northern after a three-year stint as the head women's golf coach at Otterbein, where he guided the Cardinals to the 2013 OAC title and was named the OAC Women's Coach of the Year.

Bucci is the only coach in OAC history to to lead two different schools to the league title, as he guided Otterbein to the 2013 Women's OAC crown and ONU to the 2021 and 2024 women's titles.

Bucci earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Malone in 1991, where he was a four-year member of the golf team.

He qualified for the NAIA National Championships in each of his four seasons, winning the NAIA District title as a senior in 1991. He also served as a student assistant coach on the MU basketball team.

Bucci has been a class A-1 member of the PGA for 24 years.

Chad and his wife, Cheryl, have two sons, Sutton and Rocco, and a daughter, Karsten.
