This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field team will compete in the Silverston Invitational on Friday afternoon at the University of Michigan, as well as the Kenyon Classic on Saturday ... Senior Matt Molinaro will be joined by sophomore Jared Butcher and freshmen Gabe Dauch and Jared Fox as they compete in the 4x400-meter relay at the meet ... Molinaro will also compete in the 1-mile run, Dauch will participate in the 400-meter dash, and Fox and Butcher will each compete in the 200-meter dash ... The Polar Bears throwers will travel to Findlay on Friday evening and will compete in the Findlay Meet for Everyone ... Junior Ian McVey will also be competing on the road this weekend as he travels to the Ohio State Tune Up meet to compete in the 3,000-meter run ... Molinaro will kick things off for ONU at the Silverston Invitational as he competes in the mile at 2:20 pm ... The Kenyon Classic will begin at 12 pm with the men's long jump, pole vault and weight throw ... Running events will begin at 2:30 pm with the women's 60-meter hurdle prelims ... The Polar Bears enter the meet after competing in annual both the All-Ohio Championships and the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet last weekend ... At the GVSU Big Meet, Molinaro had a big day on the track as he won the 800-meter run in an impressive 1:50.23 ... The senior's time is also tied for the ninth best mark in Div. III history in the event ... Matt also has the best time in the country among Div. III athletes in the event ... McVey competed in the 5,000-meter run, finishing seventeenth overall in 14:38.44 ... McVey was the first Div. III athlete to cross the finish line ... At the All-Ohio Championships, Northrern finished ninth of 18 teams with 25 points ... Junior Spencer Schulze and freshman Sam Krabacher had the top individual performances for ONU ... Schulze was third in the 5000-meter run in 15:32.11 and Krabacher was third in the 800 in 1:57.86 ... The 4x400 relay team of Butcher, Fox, Dauch and Molinaro won the race in 3:25.24.
