Men's Swimming & Diving kicks off 2017-18 campaign at Kenyon Relays and Denison Diving Meet

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team kicked off its 2017-18 campaign on Saturday afternoon as it competed in the annual Kenyon Relays and Denison Diving Meet.
The Polar Bears finished third overall of eight in the team standings with 70 points.
Senior Braden Kuhn (Tiffin/Columbian) and freshman Julian Medina (Clarks Summitt, Pa./Abington Heights) teamed up to post third place finishes in both diving events, finishing third in the 1-meter dive with 305.30 points and third in the 3-meter dive with 315.35 points.
The team of seniors Conor Cassara (Westhampton, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) and Thomas Golba (Dayton/Alter), junior Anthony Ferrell (Canton/Glen Oak) and sophomore Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) finished sixth in the 200-yard breastroke relay in 1:55.04.
In the mixed 200-yard medley relay Huey and Ferrell teamed up with two ONU women's swimmers to post a thid place finish in the event in 1:45.95.
In the 3x500-yard freestyle relay, Huey teamed up with freshmen Ryan Mow (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) and Andrew Derzay (Waukesha, Wis./South) to post an eighth place finish in 15:22.39.
The Polar Bears return to the pool on Nov. 3-4 as they travel to Calvin (Mich.) to compete in the annual Calvin (Mich.) Invitational.
