Wagner leads list of 4 Polar Bears named All-OAC in Volleyball

ADA — Junior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team to lead a list of four Polar Bears earning All-OAC honors in volleyball for the 2023 season.
Junior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) was an All-OAC Second Team selection, and juniors Lauren James (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) and Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Minn.) earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Wagner is now a three-time All-OAC honoree and has earned First Team recognition in back-to-back seasons. She was an Honorable Mention pick as a freshman in 2021.
She closed the regular season with a team-high 332 kills and .333 hitting percentage. She leads the OAC in hitting percentage and ranks second in kills per set (3.42) and third in kills while adding 62 blocks (8 solo, 54 assists).
Through three seasons, she is hitting .305, which ranks seventh all-time at ONU, and she has 771 kills, 117 digs and 161 blocks.
Jennings is now a three-time All-OAC Second Team honoree after also earning the honor in her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Her 572 digs are a team best and rank second in the OAC. She leads the conference with 5.90 digs per set, and her 37 service aces are tied for sixth. She also has 127 assists on the year.
Jennings currently ranks 10th all-time at ONU with 1,563 career digs over three seasons to go with 256 assists and 120 aces.
James and Dahlin both earn All-OAC recognition for the first time in their careers.
James has tallied 182 kills with a .264 hitting percentage this season while adding 48 digs, 27 aces and 101 total blocks (22 solo, 79 assists).
She ranks fourth in the OAC in total blocks and blocks per set (1.04). She tied her single-game career high with 10 blocks against Marietta on Oct. 28.
In three seasons, James has 381 kills with a .224 hitting percentage along with 72 digs and 229 blocks.
Dahlin has 191 kills with a .244 hitting percentage this year to go with 22 digs and 68 blocks (15 solo, 53 assists).
Her block total ranks 10th in the OAC.
She has 435 kills and a .214 hitting percentage along with 72 digs and 132 blocks in three seasons at ONU.
The Polar Bears closed the regular season with a 16-9 overall record and tied for fourth in the OAC with a 5-4 conference mark. They are the No. 4 seed in this week's OAC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded John Carroll in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m at the ONU Sports Center.
