Women's Tennis wraps up spring break trip with tight 4-3 loss to NCAA Division II foe Sioux Falls (S.D.)

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team wrapped up its annual spring break trip with a tight 4-3 loss to NCAA Division II foe Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Thursday.

The Basics

Match v Wisconsin-La Crosse - W, 6-3

• The Polar Bears led 1-0 after doubles play, as ONU won at Nos. 1 and 3.
• The match was scored on a 7-point system used by NCAA Division I and II schools with the three doubles courts counting for just one team point.
• Sophomores Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.
• Juniors Miranda Wills (Ada) and Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
• The Cougars won at Nos. 4 and 5 singles to increase the lead to 2-1.
• Sophomore Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to tie the game at 2-2.
• Sioux Falls went up 3-2 with a win at No. 2 singles.
• Cruser won 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 at No. 3 to tie the match at 3-3. 
• USF clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 6.

• Cruser went 2-0 on the day to lead ONU.
• Cruser and McLane each went 2-0 in singles play, while Bell was 1-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.
