Women's Tennis downs Piedmont (Ga.), Transylvania (Ky.) on Sunday

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team posted a pair of victories indoors on Sunday, defeating Piedmont (Ga.) 5-4 and Transylvania (Ky.) 6-3 at the Transylvania Spring Invite.

The Matches
- Sophomore Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) went 3-1 on the day, going 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles.
- Junior Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) was a perfect 3-0, winning twice in singles and once in doubles action.
- Fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart,Ind./Concord) was 2-0 in doubles and 1-1 in singles for a 3-1 day.
- Northern won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles in both matches, heading into singles play up 2-1 each time.

- The Polar Bears are now 1-0 all-time against Piedmont and are 2-2 against Transylvania.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 21-8 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team.
