Women's Tennis closes out home portion of fall schedule with 7-2 win over St. Mary's (Ind.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team defeated St. Mary's (Ind.) 7-2 on Saturday morning at the West Campus Courts. The match was the second and final one at home for the Polar Bears this fall.

- St. Mary's won two of the three doubles courts for a 2-1 edge before ONU swept all six singles courts.
- Junior Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) and fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
- Landis and O'Connell both earned two victories on the day. Landis won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, and O'Connell won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
- Sophomore Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
- Sophomore Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
- Junior Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Notables
- Landis is 104-32 overall in her career, including a 59-19 mark in singles play and 45-13 in doubles.
- The Polar Bears are now 4-1 all-time against the Belles.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 19-6 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team.
