Landis, Kesner, O’Connell named Academic All-District in Women’s Tennis by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), junior Olivia Kesner (Lima/Central Catholic) and sophomore Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) were named 2022-23 Academic All-District in women's tennis by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have played in at least 50 percent of her team's games during the season.
Landis closed the season with an overall record of 20-8, including 17-5 in singles play and 3-3 in doubles.
In four seasons at ONU, Landis is 97-32 overall, including 55-19 in singles and 42-13 in doubles.
Kesner was 11-6 in singles and 4-7 in doubles this season, finishing with an overall mark of 15-13.
She is 46-54 overall in her career, including 25-27 in singles and 21-27 in doubles.
O'Connell was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 20 and closed the season with a 20-7 overall mark, including 16-5 in singles and 4-2 in doubles.
In two seasons at ONU, O'Connell is 52-11 overall, including 39-9 in singles and 13-2 in doubles.
The 2022-2023 Academic All-District Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 1.
Under first-year head coach Sean Swisher, the Polar Bears put together separate win streaks of nine and four matches during the 2022-23 season and finished the year with an overall record of 16-5.
Northern went 7-1 in OAC play, finishing second in the conference en route to closing the year as the runner-up in the OAC Tournament.
