Freshman Jenna Bell earns second straight OAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week accolade

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, sponsored by Midstream Lighting, for the week of April 17-23.
This marks the second straight week Bell has earned the accolade, giving her two in her career.
The latest recognition comes after Bell went a perfect 4-0 to help lead ONU to consecutive 9-0 victories over Baldwin Wallace and Mount Union to close the regular season in second place in the OAC standings.
Against Baldwin Wallace, Bell won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
She won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and 8-4 at No. 1 doubles against Mount Union.
On the season, Bell is 16-4 in singles play and 12-10 in doubles, giving her an overall record of 28-14.
As the No. 2 seed, the Polar Bears (15-4 overall, 6-1 OAC) receive a first-round bye into the semifinals of this week's OAC Tournament.
Northern will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between No. 3 seed John Carroll and No. 6 seed Marietta in the semifinals on Friday at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason.
The OAC Tournament championship is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
