Women's Tennis tops Spring Arbor (Mich.) 6-2

FINDLAY —The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 6-2 victory over Spring Arbor (Mich.) on a late Saturday night at the Findlay YMCA.
Freshmen Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won at Nos. 1 and 3 singles and combined to win at No. 2 doubles to lead the Polar Bears.
The pair won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles and senior Flo Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) and sophomore Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles as ONU led 2-1 heading into singles play.
Northern then won four of the five singles courts that completed play to grab the win.
Cruser won 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 at No. 1 singles freshman Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, Bell won 6-1, 6-2 singles and senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) to complete the victory that ended after midnight.
The Polar Bears will return to action on March 4 at home against Wooster.
