Women's Tennis opens spring schedule with 8-1 loss to Hope (Mich.)

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2022-23 schedule indoors on Friday afternoon with an 8-1 loss to Hope (Mich.) at the Westwood Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 2-1 on the season, while the Flying Dutch improve to 1-1.
Sophomore Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) scored ONU's point with a 7-6(4), 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles.
Northern also dropped three three-set tiebreaker matches.
Freshman Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) fell 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 at No. 2 singles, senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) dropped a tight 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 decision at No. 4 singles and sophomore Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) fell 3-6, 7-5, 10-4 at No. 6 singles.
The Polar Bears will return to action Feb. 25 at home against Spring Arbor (Mich.)
