Women's Tennis hosts inaugural 2-of-3 Challenge

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team posted an 18-12 record at the inaugural 2-of-3 Challenge Saturday and Sunday at the West Campus Courts.
Midway (Ky.) joined ONU on both days, while Ohio Wesleyan only competed on Saturday in the non-scoring event.
Players were matched up in pairs, playing together as a doubles team and then individually as singles foes with the team that wins two of the three courts winning the match.
Northern was 12-8 in singles play and 6-4 in doubles action, going 7-3 in the ten matches.
Midway finished 4-2 and Ohio Wesleyan finished 0-6.
Individually, senior Flo Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) went 5-0 to lead the Polar Bears. She was 3-0 in doubles play and 2-0 in singles action.
Sophomore Victoria Santana (Humacao, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Antonio Abad) was 4-1 overall and three other ONU players finished the wekend with three victories to their credit.
The Polar Bears are done competing for the fall and are scheduled to return to action Feb. 17 when they host Hope (Mich.)
