ADA — Senior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, leading a list of eight Polar Bear women's soccer players to earn All-Conference honors for the 2021 season as voted on by the league's 10 head coaches. Head coach Mark Batman also earned recognition as the OAC Coach of the Year.
This marks the second consecutive season for Catrine to be named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year and to be named to the All-OAC First Team.
ONU has now had the Goalkeeper of the Year for six consecutive seasons after Megan Greirson became the OAC's first-ever four-time position player of the year award winner from 2016-2019.
Senior Carissa Beckham (Mason/Mount Notre Dame) and freshman Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) joined Catrine on the All-OAC First Team.
Junior Lauren Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) and sophomores Bri Straus (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) were named Second Team All-Conference.
Senior Tara Morris (Monroe) and sophomore Kylie Cabana (Dexter, Mich.) were All-OAC Third Team selections.
After allowing just one goal and setting an ONU record with a scoreless streak of 1,010 minutes as a junior, Catrine continued to shine in her senior season, earning OAC Defensive Player of Week three times as well as being named to the All-OAC Tournament Team.
Catrine has an OAC-high 12 shutouts, is tied for first in the conference in save percentage (.829) and ranks second in GAA (0.63) and third in goals against (13) while tallying 63 saves on the season.
Her 12 shutouts are tied for third-most in a season in program history, and her 20 career shutouts tie her with Erin Waehner ('09-'12) for fifth place all-time.
Catrine boasts a career record of 21-5-5 with 94 saves, 0.44 GAA and .870 save percentage in 31 games, including 30 starts.
Beckham, a three-year starter for the ONU defense, is a three-time All-OAC honoree after earning Second Team and Honorable Mention honors in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
She is part of a Polar Bear defense that has limited opponents to just 13 goals (0.65 per game) this season while posting 13 shutouts.
Beckham has four points via one goal and two assists in 65 career games, including 57 starts.
Beckett ranks third on the team in goals and points this season with four and 10, respectively, while adding two assists.
She provided one of the team's offensive highlights this season, recording a hat trick in ONU's 3-3 draw with Capital on Oct. 23.
Naso, a midfielder, tallied three goals and two assists for eight points this season.
She came up big for the Polar Bears late in the season, scoring one goal in a 3-0 win over Mount Union in the regular-season finale and adding two more, including the game-winner in double overtime, in a 2-1 victory over Capital in the OAC Tournament semifinals.
That performance spurred her to a spot on the All-OAC Tournament team.
Naso now has four goals, three assists and 11 points in 47 career games.
Straus has started all 30 games she has played in her ONU career, joining Beckham as another key member of the Polar Bear defense.
She has tallied one assist in 19 starts this season.
Roberts, a two-year starter at forward, is now a two-time All-OAC selection after earning Honorable Mention status as a freshman.
She ranks second on the team with five goals and 13 points and is tied for second in assists with three.
Roberts provided a pair of game-winning goals this season — in 1-0 wins over North Central (Ill.) and Marietta.
She has started all 31 games she has played in her career and boasts career totals of five goals, four assists and 14 points.
Morris, a midfielder who has started 49 of her 55 games played for ONU, has six points on two goals and two assists this season.
She provided the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over John Carroll this season and boasts career totals of seven goals, four assists and 18 points.
Cabana, a two-year starter for the Polar Bear defense, scored one goal — the game-winner in a 2-0 win over Otterbein — and added three assists this season.
She has started 19 of the 21 games she has played for ONU and has career totals of three goals, five assists and 11 points.
Now in his 18th season at ONU, Batman earned OAC Coach of the Year recognition in guiding the Polar Bears to a 13-4-3 record, including 7-1-1 in the OAC, and their fourth OAC Tournament championship and sixth NCAA Tournament berth in program history.
