No. 22 Wrestling posts 2-1 record at UAA/OAC Challenge

CLEVELAND — The No. 22-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team posted a 2-1 record at the UAA/OAC Challenge on Saturday at Case Western Reserve's Veale Center.

The Polar Bears (8-6) defeated No. 25 Chicago (Ill.) 22-15 and Case Western Reserve 26-15 and fell to No. 14 New York U. 36-6.

ONU Individuals

Sophomore Ajay Locke (Lancaster) went 2-1 with two pins at 197 and junior Colin Mellott (Wapakoneta) went 2-1 with a pin at 125 to lead ONU.
Sophomore Dylan Le (Dublin/Scioto) also went 2-1 and had a major decision at 133 points.
In the opener against Chicago, Northern won the first three bouts, led by a pin by Mellott, to grab a quick 13-0 lead. After the Maroons closed to within 13-8, ONU rattled off three more wins to clinch the match up 22-8.
Against Case, Northern trailed 15-10 to the Spartans before winning the final four bouts, including a match-clinching pin by Locke, to grab a 26-15 victory.
In the finale against the Violets, Ohio Northern's lone win was a pin by Locke at 197.
Mellott is now 18-8 on the season with six pins, Locke is 10-6 with eight falls, Le is 16-9.
