Serbin scores 22 as Women's Basketball wins 57-43 at Baldwin Wallace in semifinals of OAC Tournament

BEREA — Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored a game-high 22 points and fourth-seeded Ohio Northern built a 20-point halftime lead in a 57-43 victory at top-seeded Baldwin Wallace in the semifinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Thursday evening.

- Serbin also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists to lead ONU.
- Junior Mackenzie Suprano (Cutler/Waterford) had eight points off the bench.
- Senior Kristen Luersman (Fort Jennings) added seven points and six rebounds.
- Serbin scored 16 of her points in the first half as the Polar Bears built a 33-13 lead at intermission.
- Northern used a 16-4 run to grab a 22-9 lead with 8:30 left in the second quarter.
- ONU would score the final six points of the half to increase its lead to 20.
- The hosts would outscore ONU 19-12 in the third quarter to pull within 45-32 with 10 minutes to play.
- BW cut the lead to 51-41 with 4:13 left in the game, but Serbin would score twice inside and Luersman would make one of two free throws to push the lead to 56-41 with 1:17 left.
- Ohio Northern made 20-of-55 field goals for 36.4 percent and was 4-of-20 from beyond the arc for 20.0 percent while Baldwin Wallace was 16-of-59 from the floor for 27.1 percent and finished 5-of-26 on 3-pointers for 19.2 percent.
- ONU made 13-of-16 free throws for 81.3 percent and BWU was 6-of-8 from the line for 75.0 percent.
