Kaylie Griffin, Ashley Lenser named All-Region in Softball by National Fastpitch Coaches Association

ADA — Sophomore Kaylie Griffin (Grafton/Elyria Catholic) and freshman Ashley Lenser (Brookville) were named Second Team All-Region VII in softball for 2022 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Both players also earned First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and were named to the All-OAC Tournament Team earlier this season.
Griffin started 32 games behind the plate and at designated player in her first season as a starter.
She led the team and was third in the OAC in batting this season with a .411 average. She was also fourth in the league with six home runs and was fifth in the league with 32 runs scored
Griffin also led the team with 27 RBI, 7 doubles, a triple, a .664 slugging percentage and a .453 on-base percentage.
Lenser was also named the OAC Pitcher of the Year and the OAC Rookie of the Year and was outstanding both in the circle and at the plate.
She finished the season with a 12-4 record, a league-best 1.46 ERA, 74 strikeouts and two saves in the circle.
At the plate, she was fourth on the team with a .307 batting average to go with a .381 on-base percentage.
The Polar Bears won the OAC Regular Season title with a 16-2 record, won the OAC Tournament and participated in the NCAA III Tournament this season under sixth-year head coach Jackie Price.
