Men's Outdoor Track and Field finishes third at 2024 OAC Championships

TIFFIN — Ohio Northern finished third of 10 at the 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hoernemann Stadium on Friday.

Meet Results
- The day consisted of finals for 14 of the 21 events in the two-day meet and prelims of the five sprint/hurdle events.
- Ohio Northern moved up two spots on the second day to finish with 96 points.
- Northern set an OAC record and two school records on the day.,
- Mount Union won the team title with 201 points. John Carroll was second with 144 points, Otterbein was fourth with 81 points and Baldwin Wallace was fifth with 75 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Senior Trey Myers (DaytonChaminade-Julienne) was one of three event champions on the day, winning the 800-meter run in an OAC record 1:51.01.
- Junior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angels-St Joseph) won the 400 in a school record :46.47.
- The 4x100 team of senior Hunter Kesler (Paulding), Dean, junior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) and freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) set a school record and earned All-OAC honors with a second place finish in 1:51.01.
- Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) won the shot put with a toss of 16.54 meters.
- Boothby was also second in the 100 in :10.66.
- The 4x400 relay team of Kesler, junior Ross Schlatter (Fostoria/Lakota), freshman Grant Conn (Medina/Buckeye Senior) and Myers earned ALl-OAC kudos with a second place finish in 3:15.58.
- Junior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was fourth in the 5000 in 14:41.08.
Notables
- Northern moved up two spots on the final day of the two-day championships after being fifth after Thursday's competition.
- ONU has now finished third in three of the past four OAC Championships meets.
- The Polar Bears have now posted nine consecutive upper division finishes at the OAC Championships.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 15th year at Ohio Northern and is 565-154-2 in men's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .785.
