Jordan Dean sets a new school record in the 400-meter dash, leads Men's Outdoor Track and Field at Bucknell Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Junior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) broke his own outdoor school record and won the 400-meter dash in :46.84 to lead the Ohio Northern men's track and field team at the Bucknell Classic on Saturday and Sunday.

- Dean won the 400 dash in 46.84 seconds breaking his previous school record of :46.85.
- Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) earned 2nd in the shot put with a toss of 17.42m.
- The 4x100 relay team of senior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), Dean, junior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), and freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) were third of 18 teams in :41.12.
- Barker also finished 9th in the 110 hurdles in :15.02.
- Senior Tommy Vetrovsky (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) earned 11th in the hammer throw with a throw of 53.52m.
- Boothby finished 12th out of 114 runners in :10.73 in the 100 dash.
- Digby also placed 13th and 24th, respectively, in the hammer and discus throw with tosses of 52.73m and 44.25m.
- Senior Jared Swartz (Columbia Station/Columbia) earned 25th in the 10k run in 31:57.87.
- Vetrovsky also finished 33rd in shot put with a toss of 13.55m.
- Senior Braden Schaser (Fostoria/Lakota) placed 39th in the 3k steeplechase in 9:43.50.
- Kesler placed 48th out of 104 runners in the 400 dash in :49.94.

- Ohio Northern competed with a split-quad as some of the team competed at the All-Ohio Championships Friday and Saturday.
- Vertovsky earned a new personal record by 0.48m in the hammer throw, keeping him sixth all-time at ONU in the category.
- Boothby's time in the 100 dash puts him 7th on the top 10 all-time list.
- Digby earned a new personal record by 1.77m putting him 6th on the top ten all-time list for discus.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 15th year at Ohio Northern and is 673-161 for men's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .809.
