4x400 Relay squad improves position with season-best mark, leads Men's Track and Field at Mount Union Final Qualifier

ALLIANCE — Ohio Northern's 4x400 relay team improved its position for an NCAA bid with a season-best effort to lead the men's indoor track and field team at the Mount Union Final Qualifier on Saturday.

Top ONU Performers
- Fifth-year senior Hunter Kesler (Paulding), junior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa), senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and junior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela St Joseph) won the 4x400 relay in 3:17.48.
- Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) had the furthest throw in shot put, winning the event with a distance of 17.24 meters.
- Digby also finished 5th in weight throw with a distance of 17.90 meters.
- Senior Aaron Guzman (Lebanon) had the 5th quickest mile, completing it in 4:26.71.
- Junior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) finished 4th in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.57.
- Barker also participated in high jump and finished 6th with a jump of 1.84 meters.
- Senior Tommy Vetrovksy (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 17.08 meters.

- Kesler, Schlatter, Myers, and Dean beat their previous record time in the 4x400 by 1.45 seconds.
- The 4x400 team is now ranked No. 10 nationally.
- The top 20 individuals and the top 12 relays receive bids to participate at the NCAA Championships.
- The NCAA participants are expected to be announced Sunday evening.
- In all, Ohio Northern won two events.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 15th year at Ohio Northern and is 658-157 with men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .808.
