Men's Tennis falls to Hope (Mich.) 6-3 in Spring schedule opener

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team opened up its spring schedule on Saturday with a 6-3 loss to Hope (Mich.) indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

- The Polar Bears won the 2 and 3 doubles courts to enter the singles play ahead 2-1.
- Junior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and freshman Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's Jesuit) won at No. 2 doubles 8-6.
- Junior Drew Swisher (Findlay) and Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
- Snior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) then won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, but the Flying Dutch would take the other five singles courts to notch the victory.

- The Polar Bears are now 1-3 all-time against the Flying Dutch.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 17-10 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team.
