Mostowy impressive in final home match, leads Men's Tennis past Heidelberg 8-1

ADA — Senior John Mostowy was outstanding in the final home match in his career, leading the Ohio Northern men's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Heidelberg at University Courts on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-11 overall and are 3-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Student Princes fall to 5-8, 2-4.
Mostowy won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and combined with freshman Tim Kargl to win 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman David Hayman and Jake Abbott were also impressive on the day.
Hayman won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, Abbott won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles and the duo combined to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Juniors Alex Genbauffe and Dan Warren combined to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles to give ONU an early 3-0 lead.
Mostowy, Abbott and Hayman all won to make it 6-0 Polar Bears and clinch the match.
Genbauffe also won 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 5 singles and Kargl won 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 at No. 2 singles.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season next Saturday with a 1 pm match at Capital.
