Men's Tennis opens 2016 season with 7-2 loss against Saint Mary's (Minn.)

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Senior John Mostowy and freshman David Hayman each won singles matches to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team in a 7-2 season-opening loss to Saint Mary's (Minn.) at the Star Island Resort on Sunday.
The Polar Bears fall to 0-1, while the Cardinals improve to 6-4.
Mostowy won 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-4 at No. 1 singles and Hayman won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for ONU.
Saint Marys took a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matchesm then won four of the six singles matches to grab the victory.
"We hit the ball well today," ONU head coach Bob Rohan said. "We just didn't win enough points to win the match."
The Polar Bears will continue their Spring Break trip Monday morning with a match against Adrian (Mich.) in Kissimmee.
