ORLANDO, Fla. -- The No. 1 doubles team of senior Sam Prewitt and junior John Mostowy improved to 5-0 on the season, but the Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell to NCAA Division II Post (Conn.) 8-1 during its annual Spring Break Trip on Tuesday morning at the Oak Street Courts.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-4 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 1-2.
Prewitt and Mostowy won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles to pick up ONU's point. The pair now have victories over NCAA Divison I and II opponents this season.
Sophomores Alex Genbauffe and Alex Starr were close to singles victories in the match.
Genbauffe fell in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles 10-8 after dropping the first set 7-6(5) and winning the second set 6-2.
Starr won his first set at No. 3 singles 6-1, but fell 6-1 in the second set and 6-2 in the third set.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their Spring Break trip on Wednesday with a 7 pm contest against NCAA Division III foe St. John's (Minn.)
