Men's Tennis improves to 2-0 in OAC action with 9-0 sweep of Capital

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 9-0 win over Capital Saturday afternoon at the University Courts.
With the win the Polar Bears improve to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in conference while the Crusaders fall to 1-9, 0-2.
Northern took all three doubles courts and only lost one game in the process.
At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Joey Frank and junior Nick Kowalczyk won 8-0 over Casey Filas and Tommy Stein.
Junior Michael Kathary and freshman Do Thai won their sixth straight match at No. 2 doubles with an 8-1 win.
The No. 3 doubles team of senior Jeff Carter and junior Andrew Korba won by a 8-0 margin.
Northern kept on rolling in singles play.
Kathary, Kowalczyk, and freshman Josh Saunders all won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles respectively.
Thai was victorious by a 6-0, 6-1 score at No. 3 singles.
Senior Kyle Barnaba notched a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles over Alex Wilimarth.
Frank completed the sweet at No. 1 singles with a tough 7-6(8-6), 6-4 win over Filas.
"We all played well from start to finish," said head coach Bob Rohan. "It was important to play our game and I feel like we did today."
Ohio Northern will be in action again next Saturday when they travel to Marietta for a 1 p.m. match.
