Men's Tennis posts fourth consecutive shutout, tops Heidelberg 9-0

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team picked up its fourth consecutive 9-0 sweep over Heidelberg Wednesday afternoon at the University Courts.
The Polar Bears are now 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the OAC while the Student Princes fall to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in conference.
Ohio Northern began play with a sweep of all three doubles courts.
At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Joey Frank and junior Nick Kowalczyk scored an 8-2 win.
Freshman Do Thai and junior Michael Kathary won their eighth straight doubles match with an 8-2 win over Patrick Ryan Earl and Cliff Goetz.
Senior Jeff Carter and junior Andrew Korba notched their team leading 12th doubles win of the season with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play the Polar Bears continued to roll.
Thai and Kowalczyk both won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively.
Frank was victorious at No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 6-2 score while Kathary defeated Goetz by a 6-2, 6-2 margin at No. 2 singles.
Carter won his match at No. 5 singles over Dylan Booth by a 6-0, 6-3 score.
Freshman Josh Saunders finished the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Miles Yetter at No. 6 singles.
"I thought we had a strong showing from top to bottom today," said head coach Bob Rohan. "This was a good team that cannot be overlooked but our focus really got us going in the right direction from the start."
The Polar Bears will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Berea to take on Baldwin-Wallace for a 1 p.m. match.
