Men's Swimming and Diving clinches 19th consecutive non-losing season with sweep of Ohio Wesleyan, Bluffton in tri-meet in home finale

ADA — Sophomore Selby Wilt (Findlay) won two events as the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team concluded its home schedule with a tri-meet sweep of Ohio Wesleyan and Bluffton Friday night.

Meet Highlights
- Wilt and sophomores Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) and Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside) finished 1-2-3 in the 50 free in :21.52, :22.32 and :22.71, respectively.
- Wilt later won the 100 back in :53.89.
- Clark also won the 100 fly in :53.71.
- Edmonds also won the 100 free in :50.26.
- Freshman Diego Rios (Chandler, Ariz./Arzona College Prep) won the 1,000-yard free in 10:50.35.
- Sophomore Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) won the 200 free in 1:49.10.
- Junior Noah Shaw (Port Clinton) won the 500 free in 5:13.41.
- Freshman Grayson Morgan (Clyde) won the 100 breast in 1:01.95.
- Junior Holden Cubberley (Celina) swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events. He won the 1-meter competition with 306.70 points for six dives and won the 3-meter event unopposed with 300.40 points for six dives.
- Senior Charlie Spyker (Harrod/Shawnee), junior Ben Starling (Mansfield/Lexington), sophomore Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland) and junior Noah Shaw (Port Clinton) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:42.02.
- Spyker was also second in the 1-mter diving with 222.25 points for six dives.
- Junior Brandon Parkins (DuPont, Wash./Steilacoom), Magoolaghan, freshman Nathan Herbert (Medina/Highland) and Horgan wrapped up the victories by winning the 200 free relay in 1:29.04.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 13 events, including nine individual races, two relays and two diving events.
- The Polar Bears won 12 of the 13 events to post the victories.
- The meet is the ninth of 11 regular-season contests for Ohio Northern.
- Ohio Northern also clinched its 19th consecutive non-losing season, dating to the 2005-06 campaign.
- Austin Veltman is now 30-16 in his sixth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
