Edmonds has two top-10 finishes, leads Men's Swimming and Diving on final day of Wabash (Ind.) Invitational

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Sophomore Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside) had two top-10 finishes to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team on the final day of the Wabash (Ind.) Gail Moll Pebworth Invitational on Sunday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (4-1 overall, 2-1 OAC).
- Venue: Crawfordsville High School Aquatics Center - Crawfordsville, Ind.
- The Polar Bears finished 5th of 11 teams with 604 points in the 20 events.
- Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) won the team title with 907 points, Centre (Ky.) was second with 861 points and Colorado College was third with 846 points.
Meet Highlights
- Edmonds and junior Ben Starling (Mansfield/Lexington) each had top-10 finishes in the 100 I.M.
- Edmonds was fifth in :53.79 and Starling was ninth in :56.00.
- Edmonds was also eighth in the 200 breast in 2;12.81.
- Junior Holden Cubberley (Celina) finished fifth in the 3-meter diving with 469.10 points.
- Sophomore Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder), junior Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) and sophomore Selby Wilt (Findlay) all had top-10 finishes in the 100 free.
- Clark and Horgan tied for eighth in :47.76 and Wilt was 10th in :48.08.
- Freshman Nathan Herbert (Medina/Highland) was 10th in the 1650 free in 17:15.33.
- Senior Charlie Spyker (Harrod/Allen East) was tenth in the 200 back in 2:01.53.
- Sophomore Long Huynh (Billings, Mt./West) was 10th in the 200 fly in 2:00.32
- The 400 free relay team of Wilt, Horgan, sophomore Isaac Reddy (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) and Clark were second in 3:08.23.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 20 events, including 13 individual races, five relays and 2 diving events.
- The meet is the sixth of 11 regular season contests and is the final event of the fall schedule for Ohio Northern.
- Austin Veltman is now 27-14 in his sixth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
