WILMINGTON — Freshman Colin Willits (West Chester/Lakota West) scored a career-high six goals and junior Aidan Dempsey (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) had a career-highs seven points to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team in a 25-1 victory at Wilmington on Monday night at Williams Stadium.
Junior Andrew Caliri (Lexington, Mass.) added a career-best four goals for ONU.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Quakers fall to 3-9, 0-5.
It took Caliri just 6:42 to pick up a hat trick, as he scored three of Ohio Northern's first four goals.
Dempsey got his seven points on a career-best five goals and two assists.
Northern led 7-0 after the first quarter, 15-0 at halftime and 24-1 after three periods.
Junior T.J. Smith (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) had a goal and a career-high eight ground balls.
Northern out-shot WC 65-9 and finished with a 41-4 edge in ground balls.
Junior Chad Calderwood (West Linn, Ore.) won 17-of-18 and Smith went 9-for-9 as ONU won 29-of-30 face-offs.
The game was rescheduled from April 5 due to inclement weather forecast that day.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday when they host OAC foe Muskingum at 1 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
