NEW CONCORD — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team went on a 12-0 run in the first half and posted a 18-5 victory at Muskingum Friday night at McConagha Stadium.
The Polar Bears run their win streak to seven games and improve to 8-3 overall and are 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Muskies fall to 4-6, 1-3.
Sophomore Noah St. Croix (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) had a Hat Trick to lead a balanced ONU attack.
Sophomores Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby), Chris DiMarco (Worthington), Nicholas Groves (Fishers, Ind./Chatard) and Peter Hardt (Bethpage, N.Y./Plainedge) and freshman Cameron Marous (Brecksville) all added a pair of goals for ONU.
In all, 11 different Polar Bears scored at least a goal.
Muskingum scored midway through the first period to go up 1-0.
But it was all Ohio Northern after that as the Polar Bears posted the next 12 goals of the game to go up 12-1 with 4:16 left in the half.
ONU scored three man-up goals on the same penalty to cap the 12-0 run.
The Polar Bears led 13-2 at halftime and 15-3 after three quarters.
Ohio Northern out-shot Muskingum 53-29 and won 18-of-27 face-offs.
Northern finished the game 5-for-7 on mau-up opportunities.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday when they host Heidelberg at 7 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
