SUNBURY — Sophomore Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) and freshman Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) each carded 3-over par 75s to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a second place finish at the 5-team Otterbein Tax Bracket Bonanza on Monday.

The Basics

  • The Polar Bears carded a 312 on Monday.
  • Otterbein won the team title with a 302, Capital was third at 315, Marietta was fourth with a 319 and Heidelberg was fifth with a 320.

  • Christy carded a 36-39—75 and Patel finished with a 35-40—75 to tie for seventh of 43 golfers.
  • Sophomore Joey DeSimone (Munroe Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) and sophomore Austin Hanni-Wells (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) tied with 81s.
  • Junior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) carded an 82.

Notables

  • Northstar played to a par of 72 on Monday.
  • ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 360-346-15 in his 11th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .510.
