Andrew Slusher fires a 1-under par 71, leads Men's Golf at Capital Purple and White Invitational

GALENA — Junior Andrew Slusher (Covington) fired a 1-under par 71 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Capital Purple & White Invitational on Saturday at the Royal American Links.
The Polar Bears (2-10-2 overall) finished fourth of five teams with 307 strokes.
Slusher tied for third out of 46 golfers.
Sophomore Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tied for ninth with a 75, junior Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) tied for 16th with a 79, junior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) tied for 29th with an 82 and junior Austin White (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) tied for 32nd with an 83.
Otterbein won the team title with a 292, defeating Capital on the fifth-man tiebreaker, Capital was second with a 292, Muskingum was third with a 306 and Marietta was fifth with a 311.
Otterbein's Kurt Fortman won Medalist honors with a 6-under par 66.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Sunday at a second Capital Purple and White Invitational.
