Six Polar Bears named All-Conference in Baseball

ADA — Six Ohio Northern players were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in baseball for the 2015 season in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Senior Dan Belliveau and junior Nick Eltzroth were named First Team All-OAC, senior Jack LaMarca, junior Alex Crabtree and freshman Jordan Bostater were named Second Team All-Conference and freshman T.J. Storer was named Honorable Mention All-OAC.
Belliveau leads the team in hitting with a .367 batting average and is now a three-time All-OAC honoree.
Belliveau has started 152 of 153 games in his career, primarily in right field.
He is a First Team All-OAC pick for the second consecutive year and was an Honorable Mention All-OAC honoree as a sophomore in 2013.
He is ONU's all-time career leader in at-bats (580) and total bases (319) and is tied for ONU's career lead with 15 triples.
Belliveau also ranks second all-time at ONU in base hits with 196, is second in RBI with 149 is second in runs with 147 and is seventh in home runs with 20.
Eltzroth was named First Team All-OAC as a utility player, as he was among the OAC's top players both as a pitcher and as a corner infielder this season.
He was also named First Team All-Conference as a pitcher in 2014.
This season, Eltzroth is second on the team with a .364 average.
On the mound, Eltzroth is 7-3 with 51 strikeouts and a 3.41 ERA.
He became a member of ONU's 100-Hit Club and its 100-K Club this season. He currently ranks 55th all-time at ONU with 101 career base hits and ranks 21st all-time at Ohio Northern with 107 career strikeouts.
LaMarca is a three-year starter in center field, having started all 117 games in his three seasons as a Polar Bear.
He was named Second Team All-OAC in all three of his seasons as a Polar Bear.
This season, LaMarca is fourth on the team with a .320 batting average. He is also leads the team with 19 stolen bases and is second in runs scored (43), home runs (4) and is third in RBI (32).
Crabtree is a perfect 6-0 on the mound with a 3.20 ERA this season.
He has appeared in 10 games with eight starts and has 44 strikeouts in 50.2 innings of work.
This is his first appearance on the All-Conference squad.
Bostater is third on the team with a .361 batting average while starting 34 games at third base and first base.
He is second on the team with 37 RBI.
Storer leads the ONU pitching staff with a 2.20 ERA, five saves and 19 appearances. He is 2-0 and has 28 strikeouts in just 28.2 innings.
The Polar Bears are 30-9 overall and are ranked No. 16 nationally under fourth-year head coach Gene Stechschulte.
Northern is waiting to see if it received a bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament bracket, which is expected to be released on Monday.
