WOOSTER — Drew Robinson blasted his team-leading sixth home run of the season as the Ohio Northern baseball team wrapped up its non-conference schedule with a 7-4 loss at No. 11 Wooster Thursday afternoon at Murray Field.
The Polar Bears see their three-game win streak end and fall to 17-21, while the Scots improve to 33-7.
Brett Katana put the Polar Bears up 1-0 in the top of the third when he drilled a two-out single to score Brandon Hubbard, who led off the frame with a double down the left field line.
Robinson pulled Ohio Northern within 6-3 with a two-run bomb to left field, scoring Greg Gibbons, with one out in the top of the fifth.
Robinson came into the game with a team-best .359 batting average and finished the day 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI, improving his average to .364.
Adam Yonker had an RBI-ground out in the top of the sixth, scoring Loren Fleischman, to make it a 7-4 ball game.
"We didn't play poorly, Wooster just took advantage of their opportunities," ONU head coach Justin Bergman said. "
We are still young and are learning.
Playing a team of Wooster's caliber is a good experience."
Andy Zaebst threw well in releif, allowing only two hits in 3.2 innings of shutout ball. Katana (1-1) took the loss on the hill for the Polar Bears.
Ohio Northern will wrap up its regular season schedule on Saturday with an OAC doubleheader at Marietta at Noon.
