Overview: Melina is in her third season at Ohio Northern after transferring from Canisius ... At ONU, she has played in all 44 matches with 40 starts and ranks fourth all-time with a .326 hitting percentage ... Named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and to the AVCA All-Region 7 First Team in 2021 ... Earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC honors in 2020 and 2021 ... Named MVP of the 2021 OAC Tournament ... Named OAC Offensive Player of the Week on 9/7/21 ... Named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week on 4/8/21 ... Led the team with 302 kills, which ranked eighth in the OAC, and was second on the team with a .325 hitting percentage, which ranked fourth in the OAC, in 2021 ... In her first season at Northern, as a junior, she led the Polar Bears with 187 kills and 44 blocks, which ranked 11th and fourth, respectively, in the OAC and tallied 71 digs and hit .329 ... Enters 2022 season with career-highs of 18 kills, 24 digs and eight blocks and has 489 kills, 167 digs, 84 blocks, 19 assists and 16 service aces in her ONU career ... Sophomore Year (2019): Played in the first 14 matches of the season, starting seven ... Had a season-high 16 kills, 11 digs and 2 blocks in a 5-set victory over Nevada on 8/30/19 ... Also had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs at Buffalo on 9/21/2019 ... Had 84 kills, 10 blocks and 68 digs and hit .117 on the season.
