Pitcovich, Ashbrook, 4x800 relay post first-place finishes for Women's Track and Field at Marian (Ind.) Knight Open

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Ohio Northern women's track and field team posted three first-place finishes and four second-place finishes at the Marian (Ind.) Knight Open at St. Vincent Field on Saturday morning.
Bethel (Ind.), Grace (Ind.), Indiana Kokomo, Indianapolis (Ind.) and Indiana Tech also competed in Saturday's meet, which had no team scores.
Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) paced the field in the 5,000-meter run in 17:37.72, good for second all-time in school history.
Freshman Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.91, which places her ninth in school history.
The 4x800-meter relay team of junior Gabrielle Kowalczyk (Marion/Pleasant), junior Lexi Neff (Northfield/Walsh Jesuit), Ashbrook and sophomore Sydney Goodrich (Romeo, Mich./Romeo) won in 10:08.33.
The Polar Bears added four second-place finishes in individual events.
Senior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) finished the 100-meter dash in 12.62 seconds.
Senior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove/Columbus Grove) completed the 1-2 punch in the 5,000-meter run in 18:11.92, moving her to ninth in school history.
Junior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) cleared 3.45 meters in the pole vault.
Sophomore Oleysa Mertz (Johnstown/Johnstown) finished the 1,500-meter run in 5:04.29.
Northern will return to action at the Oberlin Invitational on Saturday.
