Freshman Emily Richards qualifies for the 800-meter run finals at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

CANTON, N.Y. — Freshman Emily Richards qualified for the 800-meter run finals at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday evening at the Merrick-Pinkard Track on the campus of St. Lawrence University.

In the prelims, the top two from each heat as well the next fastest three advance to the finals.

Richards finished second in her heat and fifth overall with a time of 2:11.17.

The finals for the 800-meter run are set for Saturday at 2:55 pm.

Sophomore Dan Arkin will also be competing on Saturday for ONU, as he will be competing in the javelin at 11:30 am.
