Women's Tennis opens season with 5-2 victory over Adrian (Mich.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened its 2022 season by posting a 5-2 victory over Adrian (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon at the West Campus Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-0 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 0-1.
Freshmen Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and Abby Cruser led ONU with 2-0 records on the day.
The duo won No. 2 doubles 8-5 and then posted individual sweeps at Nos. 2 and 4 singles, respectively.
Sophomores Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) and Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) posted an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles to secure the doubles point for the Polar Bears.
O'Connell also posted a 2-0 day as she won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Junior Olivia Kesner (Lima/Central Catholic) swept 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 16 and 17th at the Hope (Mich.) Invitational.
