LIMA -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened its spring schedule on Saturday with a 5-4 victory over Oberlin indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Club.
The Polar Bears stay undefeated on the season at 5-0, while the Yeowomen fall to 2-4.
ONU took advantage of a short-handed OC team, which only had four healthy players as several players did not make the trip due to illness.
Northern took two of the three doubles courts as senior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and junior Mackenzie Wills (Ada) won 8-2 at No. 2 and the hosts got a forfeit win at No. 3.
The Polar Bears won by forfeit at Nos. 5 and 6 singles and clinched the match when Wills won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.
Ohio Northern will return to action March 4-8 on its spring break trip to California.
