Women's Tennis sweeps Heidelberg 9-0

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Heidelberg 9-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-3 overall and 1-0 in the OAC, while the Student Princes fall to 0-10, 0-1.
Northern swept all nine courts in straight sets, losing only 10 games in the entire match.
Four Polar Bears posted 6-0, 6-0 singles wins, including senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) at No. 2, sophomore Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) at No. 4, sophomore Mackenzie Wills (Ada) at No. 5 and sophomore Jordan Dodson (Worthington) at No. 6.
Junior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and sophomore Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Ochsenhirt and Cummins won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and Kelly and Wills won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Curry and freshman Macey Camacho (Hartville/Lake) won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sunday with a 4 pm contest at Division I foe Wright State and a 7 pm contest with OAC foe Capital at Wright State.
