Senior Amy Elmer finishes 6th in the 1-meter at the 2013 NCAA Division III Central Region Diving Championships

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Ohio Norhern senior Amy Elmer finished sixth out of 17 divers in the 1-meter diving event of the 2013 NCAA Division III Central Region Diving Championships Friday night at the Venema Aquatic Center.
Elmer finished with a solid 11-dive score of 419.50 points.
Samantha Klaasen of host Calvin (Mich.) won the title with 496.60 points, Kenyon's Maria Zarka was second with 462.35 points and Renee Jordan of Macalester (Minn.) was third with 440.20 points.
The 3-meter diving competition will begin at Noon on Saturday.
Elmer has put herself in a solid a position as the top six divers after both the 1- and 3-meter diving events are completed will advance to the NCAA III Swimming & Diving Championships March 20-23 at Shenandoah, Tex.
