ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team celebrated senior day in rousing fashion Saturday at Kerscher Stadium. The Polar Bears blanked Marietta 5-0 to improve to 7-2-2 overall and 1-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
Junior Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) stole the headlines for Northern, logging her first-career hat trick and just the second hat trick in women's soccer history at Kerscher Stadium. The scores were Fuller's team-leading eighth, ninth and 10th of the season. Senior Haley Moses (Mason) recorded the other two scores, giving her three for the season.
Senior goaltender Meagan Grierson (Dayton/Miamisburg) made one save, registering her fifth shut out of 2019.
Katie Delaney started the game in goal for the Pioneers, but got injured midway through the first half. She had made four saves prior to exiting. Katie Conkle finished the game, recording three saves.
Fuller netted the contest's first goal in the 15th minute off a feed from Megan Breier (Plainfield, Ill./North). Moses took in the next two — one in the 16th minute and the other in the 31st minute — by herself to make it a 3-0 game at halftime.
Fuller scored on off a feed from Abigail Mathews (Liberty Township/Lakota East) in the 54th minute. Fuller took it in herself in 76th minute.
The Polar Bears boasted 17 shots while Marietta had just two.
