ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team teamed up with Friends of Jaclyn this season; a foundation whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other child hood cancers to raise awareness through their Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines and Guardian Angel Programs.
The women's soccer team adopted 13-year old Tori who has been fighting a cancerous tumor since she was 8 months old.
WLIO, a local television station, covered the story interviewing Tori, as well as her mother and several members of the ONU women's soccer program.
The video provides insight to Tori's experience with the team and how the program has embraced its newest member of the women's soccer family.
"We're very excitied to have her come in," said sophomore Hannah Reich. "It gives us something to look forward too."
Sophomore Hailey Martin added "It's great knowing you have someone in your corner, cheering you on. She puts a smile on our faces and brightens our spirits."
Ohio Northern returns to action Saturday as they travel to Alliance to take on Mount Union at 7 pm.
