Wrestling records five pins in 43-6 victory at Manchester (Ind.)

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Ohio Northern recorded five pins and picked up a 43-6 wrestling victory at Manchester (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-4 on the season, while the Spartans fall to 0-4.
Freshman Camden Spears (Plainfield, Ind.) opened the dual with a first period pin at 125 pounds to put ONU ahead 6-0.
Seniors Seth Transue (Plain City/Jerome) and Jeff Andrews (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) followed with back-to-back tech falls at 133 and 141 and the Polar Bears were on top 16-0.
Freshman Chase Sumner (Ada) had a pin in just 47 seconds at 149 and the lead was 22-0.
MU won decisions at 157 and 165 to pull within 22-6, but sophomore Connor Kwiat (Bloomville/Tiffin Calvert) ended the streak with a 10-8 decision at 174 and it was 25-6 ONU.
Freshman Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier), junior Cash Thompson (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) and freshman Zach George (Utica/Northridge) finished the match with back-to-back-to-back pins.
DePrest won by fall at 184 in 6:32, Thompson got his team-leading tenth pin of the season in 52 seconds at 197 and George got a pin in 4:37 at heavyweight in his first collegiate appearance.
The Polar Bears will be off for the holidays and will return to action on Jan. 4 at the Waynesburg (Pa.) Invitational.
