This Weekend's Series: The Polar Bears will continue the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their 2021 season with a four-game series with Wilmington this weekend ... ONU's two home games with WC on Saturday will also be Senior Day ... ONU will honor its four seniors - Abby Davis, Brady Guest, Gabby Stewart and Alicia Swierz - during a pregame ceremony ... A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the games based on the OAC's COVID-19 policy ... Each player will receive two admissions each game ... No tickets will be available to the general public ... The OAC eliminated non-conference games for 2021 and adopted a 36-game, double round-robin league schedule ... The teams will play home-and-home series of DHs each Saturday and Sunday from March 13-May 9 with the 6-team OAC Tournament May 12-15 ... Ohio Northern split last weekend's series with Heidelberg losing the first two games Saturday at Heidelberg 4-3, 6-4 and winning 6-4, 10-0 Sunday in Ada ... Senior Abby Davis added six hits on the weekend with two doubles, a triple, and 4 RBIs ... Thru 22 games this season, sophomore Sydney Motylinski leads the team with a .492 batting average, 29 hits, 17 RBI, and 6 home runs ... Her .492 batting average and six home runs lead the OAC ... She also is tied for 18th nationally with 6 home runs ... Senior Brady Guest ranks tied for 6th in ONU history with 16 HRs and is 23rd with 124 base hits... Senior Alicia Swierz became the 40th member of ONU's 100-Hit Club, and now ranks 31st with 108 hits ... Senior Gabby Stewart ranks 10th on ONU's all-time career hits list with 172, is fifth with 17 home runs, fifth with 125 RBIs, is tied for fourth with 40 doubles, and ninth with 263 total bases  ... The Polar Bears will be in action next weekend with a 4-game series against Baldwin Wallace ... Wilmington won three of four games against Otterbein last weekend by winning the first two 5-0, 5-4 in Wilmington then losing 1-0 and winning 14-10 Sunday in Westerville ... Freshman Arianna Layne leads the Quakers with a .403 batting average, 20 RBIs, and is second with five home runs ... Junior Hayley Schuland is tied for the league-lead with 6 home runs and tied for 18th nationally ... Juniors Alexis Stringfellow leads the Quakers pitching staff with six wins, a 2.95 ERA and four complete games in 54.2 innings in the circle ... Schuland has a team-leading 32 strikeouts to go with three wins and four complete games in 49.0 innings of work.
