Wednesday's Preview: The Polar Bears travel to Angola, Ind. to take on the #8-ranked Thunder of Trine University ... The game was scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed due to snow ... Ohio Northern enters the contest 10-5 after splitting a double header with Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Heidelberg Saturday ... The Polar Bears won game one 8-2 and fell in game two 10-1 ... Freshman Gia Saturday led the Polar Bears in game one, going 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI ... Freshman pitcher Kirsten Lightel also had a good day, as she improved to 6-1 on the season allowing only two runs in the complete game victory ... Ohio Northern is led this season by Saturday who is hitting a .409 average with 20 RBI ... Senior Kelly Sheridan leads ONU in hits with 19 and freshman Anna Martin leads in runs with 14 ... Lightel leads ONU in the circle with a 6-1 record and a 1.07 ERA ... Trine enters the contest winners of 11 straight and a 16-1 record ... The Thunder defeated John Carroll in adouble header 3-1 in game one, 8-0 in game two on Sunday ... Trine was led in the games by senior Carly Searles who recorded three hits and one RBI in the 8-0 victory ... Junior Justine Robles improves to 8-1 from the circle with the win, striking out six and giving up just three hits ... Searles leads the Thunder this season with a .484 average and 30 hits.
Series Record: Ohio Northern is 7-5 aganist Trine ... The Thunder swept the Polar Bears last season at the ONU Softball field winning game one 12-5 and game two 10-6.
