CLERMONT, Fla. - Ohio Northern Softball team splits a double header Monday evening at the Hancock Complex dropping game one to Susquehanna (Pa.) 9-1 and defeating Widener (Pa.), in game two, 3-1.
Ohio Nortern moves to 2-1 overall on the season.
Game one, the Polar Bears recorded three hits and one RBI.
Freshman Gia Saturday led the Polar Bears in the contest as she drove in Northern's only run in the bottom of the fourth.
Susquehanna recorded 13 hits and six RBI in the contest.
The Polar Bears were led in game two by senior Taylor Manahan, who recorded two doubles and one RBI.
Northern plated their first run in the bottom of the third as freshman Anna Martin hit a single to left field that scored senior Jamie Westenkirchner.
The Polar Bears extended its lead in the bottom of the fourth as Manahan hit a RBI double to score Saturday and put Northern up 2-0.
Saturday would score once more for the Polar Bears in the bottom of the sixth en route to the 3-1 victory.
Ohio Northern is next in action Tuesday as they take on Lebanon Valley (Pa.) at 11am, followed by Immaculata at 1pm.
