Men's Cross-Country: Ohio Northern at Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

ONU Race Notes: The Ohio Northern men's cross-country team will compete in its second meet of the season Saturday when the Polar Bears travel to Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio, to race in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational … The men are slated to run at 10:30 a.m. while the women will compete at 11:30 a.m. … The field also includes Wittenberg, Marietta, Wilmington, Kenyon, Bluffton, Denison, Muskingum, Earlham and Columbus State Community College … The OWU Invitational will mark the first time this season that Northern teams will traverse its full race, as the men will cover eight kilometers and women will cover six kilometers … The Polar Bears won its first competition of the 2019 season, claiming the Beaver Dam Invitational crown Aug. 31 … Junior Travis Sutter led the way for ONU, placing second overall with a time of 19:33.3 … Sophomore Patrick Baker crossed fourth overall, clocking in at 19:52.7, and freshman Billy Driemeyer took fourth overall, third on the team, with a time of 19:55.8 … Juniors Jordan Green and Sam Krabacher rounded out the Polar Bears' top five with times of 19:56.1 and 20:06.4, respectively … Northern has not competed in the OWU Invitational since 1982, a year in which they won said meet.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 11th season as head coach of the men's cross-country team … He has coached four men's cross-country teams to Ohio Athletic Conference titles, including a string of three consecutive crowns from 2015-17 … Maus currently stands as the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern school history for both men's and women's cross-country.
