Men's, Women's Track and Field to open 2023 season on Jan. 20 with annual Larry Cole Friday Night Invite

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's track and field teams will start their 2023 indoor seasons by hosting the annual Larry Cole Invitational on Jan. 20 under 14th-year head coach Jason Maus.

The Polar Bears will also the annual Joe Banks Invitational on Feb. 4. Both meets will be held at the ONU Sports Center.

Northern will also compete at Muskingum, Tiffin and Grand Valley State (Mich.) prior to the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 24-25 at Baldwin Wallace.

Individual athletes will then compete for season-best marks at home at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier on March 3-4, hoping to secure a bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala., March 10-11.

The Polar Bears will kick off the 2023 outdoor season with a trip to Manchester (Ind.) on April 8.

Northern will also travel to Bucknell, the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan and the Ashland Open.

Ohio Northern rounds out its home slate on April 21-22 by hosting the annual Mike Becraft Invitational.

The 2023 OAC Outdoor Championships are May 4-5 at Mount Union.

The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships are in Rochester (N.Y.), on May 25-27.
